Cheese out of the Krimpenerwaard

For generations, the Speksnijder family has been making (and selling) cheese in the low-lands. Years ago Gerrit and Nel had bought the farm in Lekkerkerk, but meanwhile they passed on the operation to Jan and Jan Herm

Jan Herm (left in the photo) and Jan (right) milk and take care of the 100 cows. Together with the in-laws and employees they produce cheese on the farm 4 to 5 days a week.

Gold Award for the Aged and Herb Cheese!

In the spring of 2023, the annual Cum Laude Cheese Awards took place, an event that recognizes the highest quality Dutch cheeses. One notable winner of this year’s competition was Speksnijder’s aged cheese, which secured the gold medal in the “Aged Cheeses” category.

Ik haal hier niet alleen de lekkerste kaas, maar ook heerlijke melk. Mijn dochter en ik vinden het een feestje om hierheen te gaan! De koeien aaien en een lekker stuk kaas proeven.
